About This Product
Worm reducer
■Next-generation worm reducer required by the times
With the technology and know-how accumulated over many years and a wealth of experience, it can be used in all power fields. The wide range of variations allows for use in new fields.
■Principle
A worm gear is a type of staggered gear and is composed of a worm and a worm wheel. The worm has a screw shape, and the worm wheels are a pair of gears created by a tool with tooth profiles of the same shape.
Its operation can be compared to a screw and a nut. That is, this is the same principle as when a nut, which is restrained from rotating, moves in the axial direction of the screw by rotating the screw. Also, in design, the relationship between the rack and the spur gear is considered in the center plane of the worm wheel.
■Operation
If the worm has one thread, one rotation of the worm shaft advances the worm wheel one tooth (rotation). In the case of 2 articles, there will be 2 teeth.
Features
■High reduction ratio
One rotation of the worm makes one rotation equal to the number of teeth on the worm wheel, so generally a one-stage reduction gear can be manufactured up to 1/60 (1/120 for special applications).
■Orthogonal axis
Due to its structure, it has orthogonal axes. Utilizing this property, the rotation transmission direction can be arranged at right angles.
■Arbitrariness of rotation direction
There are two types of worm twisting directions: right-handed and left-handed (generally right-handed), and the direction of rotation of the worm wheel can be changed depending on the twisting direction.
■Diversity of shaft arrangement
A feature of staggered gears is that there is a variety of shaft arrangements. For example, you can choose from 14 types by combining the output right axis, left axis, input double axis, output double axis, etc., and more than 40 types by combining the mounting orientations.
■Low noise and vibration
The meshing between the worm and the worm wheel is characterized by a linear contact and a large relative slippage, which results in much lower noise and vibration than rolling transmission. Therefore, it is used to drive medical equipment, elevators, escalators, etc.
Features of 2-stage worm reducer H series
