About This Product

■Wood decking material with excellent durability and strength

Seranganbatu (also known as Bankirai) is a broad-leaved tree of the dipterocarp family that grows in Indonesia and Malaysia in Southeast Asia. It is a durable and strong wood that is ideal for wood decks. Seranganbatsu is an abundant resource and stable in both quality and distribution, so it is safe for future maintenance even in large properties and facilities that will be used for a long time. The color of seranganbutsu is yellowish brown, giving a brighter impression than urin etc. In addition, there is little sap seeping out, so you can use it with confidence. The wood surface will become slightly rough with use, so please avoid using it with bare feet. (We recommend using footwear with all decking materials.) Also, a characteristic of Seranganbutsu is that it often has very small pinholes (insect holes). This is caused by small insects that enter the wood when the wood is standing, but there is no need to worry about insect damage remaining inside the wood after sawing, and there is no effect on strength or durability.

■Outstanding cost performance

The biggest appeal of Seranganbatsu is its affordable price. Its price, which is about 20% cheaper than general hardwood, is excellent cost performance, and it is a recommended wood decking material that is easy to use even in large properties due to its abundant inventory. Although it is slightly less durable than Urin or Ipe, it is a highly reliable wood decking material that can last for over 20 years without maintenance when used outdoors. Because of its high cost performance, it is a wood that is used repeatedly by professional customers.

■Abundant track record

Seranganbatsu has a long history in Japan and boasts a rich track record of use in public properties, large-scale construction projects, and as wooden decks for general households. Regarding construction, although pilot holes and countersinking are required when screwing, there is no problem with cutting with a circular saw, and it is easier to work with than other hardwoods.
