About This Product
Inastomer is a product that utilizes technology that uses electrical resistance, which delicately changes depending on the pressure applied, and is widely used in the much-talked-about autonomous robots, pen tablets, and electronic musical instruments. Needs are also expanding greatly in fields such as pressure distribution measurement.
■What is Inastomer?
Inastomer (pressure-sensitive conductive elastomer sensor) is a conductive type made by mixing a conductive material with a rubber material that is conventionally considered an insulator. There are general conductive rubbers, but unlike these, inastomers take advantage of the elasticity of rubber, and their electrical resistance changes from ∞ (more than 40MΩ) to several Ω as the rubber is displaced (strained) due to pressure changes. It's a thing.
In other words, if you deform (displace) the inastomer, the electrical resistance value will decrease, and if you undo the deformation, the electrical resistance value will increase (approaching ∞).
For automatic detection of cylindrical objects such as vending machines, cans, bottles, etc., and detection of weight discrimination, fingertip contact pressure discrimination, etc.

■Features
・Continuously detects the strength of pressure applied to the rubber molded (NBR) dome (R8.3) without directly touching the sensor detection part
・A strong product whose sensor cover body is made of flexible and soft rubber molding (NBR) and a stainless steel cover (SUS 304) that is strong against external loads and pressure, and is good against adverse environmental conditions and dust resistance.
・The sensor body is dome-shaped with a soft curved shape, so it can easily detect rolling clumps without getting caught on the detection part.
・The sensor body is fixed to the glass epoxy board fixing hole with a pan head screw, allowing detection of subtle contact pressure.
・Up to 5mA of current can be used to directly drive LEDs
