PartSens is a portable surface cleanliness particle monitor that instantly measures the size and number of "coarse particles" present on any surface in a clean manufacturing environment and categorizes them into reflective particles, non-reflective particles, and fibers. It can be used to evaluate various applications related to surface cleanliness, such as the cleaning efficiency of front rooms, air showers, floors, walls, equipment, and inside equipment, the cleanliness management of clothing and gloves, and the cleaning effectiveness of products. .
■Measurement principle: Monitoring equipment that is the only one listed in the European quality standard VDA19.2 “Technical cleanliness in assembly” and adopts the measurement principle of the ISO standard.
The measurement principle of PartSens corresponds to the direct/indirect measurement of VDA19.2 and the oblique light measurement system (glance light irradiation type) described in ISO14644-9. As shown in the figure on the right, the measurement probe blocks external light and illuminates the measurement area with LED light from both sides. Foreign objects on the surface are recognized by a CCD camera as reflected light through a lens, and after binarization processing, the longest diameter and number of foreign objects are counted in a few seconds. Our unique technology, which detects only particles that stand out three-dimensionally, rather than simply binarizing them with a background pattern as in image analysis, is effective for measuring objects with few surface irregularities. For general objects with a surface roughness of 2 µm or more, we use an indirect transfer method (specialized tape lift pad) to measure.
■Measurement method: Measure the surface cleanliness of all locations using a dedicated tape lift pad
Apply the special tape lift pad (sold separately, consumables) to the object to be measured and set it on the special stand. Place the measuring probe on it, press the start button and get the results in seconds. This makes it possible to quantify the cleanliness of uneven surfaces such as people, clothing, equipment, parts, tools, etc. The effectiveness of contamination measures such as cleaning or cleaning can be evaluated by collecting foreign matter adhering to the surface before and after cleaning, and comparing the measured values.
