About This Product

Using carbon metallization, CNTs can be heavily doped with titanium to transform them into titanium carbide (TiC) alloys. The obtained TiC transforms into TiC nanofibers with almost the same shape as CNTs. Further combustion of TiC nanofibers yields titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanofibers. In this case, the original CNT shape, including shape, size, and agglomeration state, is almost maintained, so titanium oxide nanofibers are formed using CNTs as a template. According to the XRD analysis results, the obtained titanium oxide nanofibers have a mixed crystal system of rutile and anatase. Since it has a large specific surface area, it can be expected to be a highly efficient photocatalyst.
