About This Product

When CNT or graphene is added to ceramic materials (SiC, WC) that are expected to have hardness and is sintered, toughness may be created to compensate for brittleness. WC, which is the most popular mold material, contains cobalt as a binder, so it cannot achieve the hardness of WC alone. Also, although binderless sintered bodies are very attractive in terms of hardness, they are brittle. Therefore, adding a small amount of CNT and sintering without a binder may significantly improve toughness. Although the mechanism has not yet been elucidated, it is thought that CNTs may be able to stop the cracks that occur during fracture from progressing. Additionally, adding CNT or graphene and sintering it can be expected to have the effect of increasing thermal conductivity. With our own plasma sintering equipment and unique nanocarbon materials, we can respond to a high degree of freedom in prototyping.
