About This Product
We will produce Japanese paper veneer sheets in your desired tree species and size.
■Type of wood
Since Mori Kogei has specialized in decorative plywood processing for many years, we handle a wide variety of trees, including rare species that are currently difficult to obtain. We have a wide variety of trees grown in various regions around the world in a variety of colors.
Usage example
■End surface of furniture, etc.
When making furniture using decorative plywood, if the thick part of the plywood or MDF is visible, you may paste only this part later. Pasting Japanese paper on the back of the veneer makes it easier to handle.
■Repair materials
It can be used for repairing and replacing wooden surfaces such as furniture and interior decoration. Please use sandpaper to flatten the surface of the target substrate so that there are no irregularities.
■Wood inlay
In addition, when using it for wood inlays, using a veneer lined with washi paper makes it relatively easy to make small cuts, allowing for delicate processing.
■Speaker
Can be used as a decorative board for speaker boxes such as plywood and MDF.
■About ironing
You can also apply it with a household iron. We recommend using a special adhesive that allows you to apply the adhesive to the base material and wait for it to dry before applying. Compared to pasting with regular adhesive, you can paste it after it dries, so you can paste it without worrying about time.
■How to use
Apply this adhesive to both the base material and the veneer and wait until it dries completely. If the surface of the base material is not in good condition, it will adhere better if you paste it when the base material side is 80-90% dry and the veneer side is 50-60% dry.
Approximate amount of application. Approximately 10g per 30cm square. Since it is applied to both the base material and the veneer, it weighs twice as much at 20g. Once the adhesive is dry, press it down with an iron to heat it and stick it on. This bond melts and bonds when heated at around 80 degrees, so it can be bonded even if there is some time left after the adhesive dries.
The temperature of the iron is set at 100 to 200 degrees Celsius, and you can apply it directly to the veneer, but using a cloth that easily transmits heat, such as a hand towel, will prevent scratches and burns. Even if you have a pressing cloth, if you stop at the same spot, the iron may burn at high temperatures and discolor the veneer, so be sure to move the iron constantly.
However, if the temperature is insufficient, the adhesion will fail, so make sure to apply sufficient heat. Lifting of the veneer due to air bubbles, etc., can usually be fixed by puncturing the veneer inconspicuously with a needle or a utility knife to remove the air, and then re-adhering it with an iron.
