About This Product

What is PX5 NET?

■Very compact

PX5 NET is designed with less than 6KB of Flash and less than 2KB of RAM for minimal use, enabling network connectivity even for low-power, memory-constrained MCUs. Its high performance (communicating at near wire speed) and efficient operation make it ideal for the most demanding embedded systems.

■Supports best-in-class safety and security

PX5 NET's entire codebase has been rigorously tested to support best-in-class safety and security. PX5 NET also provides optional runtime buffer overflow detection, packet structure, function pointer, socket, and stack validation. All of these utilize pointer/data validation (PDV) technology and centralized error handling provided by the PX5 RTOS. The resulting level of safety and security for TCP/IP is unparalleled in the embedded industry, making it an excellent option for an overall defense-in-depth strategy.

■Native implementation of BSD socket API

Most importantly, PX5 NET has a simple design. The API consists of a native implementation of the BSD Sockets API, familiar to many embedded developers, making PX5 NET applications extremely portable. Network applications running on embedded Linux can be easily ported to PX5 NET and vice versa. PX5 NET also offers enhancements specifically designed for real-time network applications in embedded systems. These enhancements give developers complete control over memory management and sending and receiving packets with zero copy.
