About This Product

■Features

・Uses a weld probe equipped with a cross coil that is unaffected by weld beads and shape changes. ・Equipped with a large 5.7” easy-to-view monitor ・Lissajous display + time axis display ・Function and simple operation specialized for weld inspection ・Battery operating time: 8.5 hours ・Frequency range: 20Hz to 20MHz ・Sensitivity adjustment range: -12 to +100dB ・Convenient because the screen rotates to ensure the vertical position in various postures, and comes with the same gyro as a smartphone WeldCheck displays the XY impedance plane (Lissajous waveform) and strip recorder display simultaneously, making it ideal for flaw detection in welds. This is an on-site eddy current flaw detection device designed for welding inspection. It works in combination with a weld probe for inspecting welds. The weld probe is a special probe for welding magnetic materials that is equipped with a cross coil and cancels out excess shape signals.

■Automatic function saves inspection time

With simple menu operations, you can quickly set the probe's excitation voltage, gain, scale, and phase. To save setup time, over 500 flaw detection conditions can be saved with unique names and recalled with a single touch. The setting conditions are displayed on the flaw detection screen, so you can check them at any time. Even if you are confused about the operation, the help menu will give you quick advice. The message area displays warnings of low battery voltage and signal saturation.

■Eddy current principle

The eddy current testing principle is an inspection method that uses induced currents (eddy currents) generated in conductive materials by electromagnetic induction. The presence of discontinuities in the material, such as cracks, corrosion, pits, and thinning, impede the flow of eddy currents. Vantage's high sensitivity captures this change and displays the signal. The penetration depth depends on the frequency, so high frequencies are suitable for detecting flaws near the surface, and low frequencies are suitable for detecting flaws deep inside. WeldCheck can cover a wide range from 20Hz to 20MHz. Compared to other NDT inspection techniques, eddy current testing (ECT) has faster inspection speeds and higher detection power for defects with narrow aperture widths. It is also possible to detect internal scratches and corrosion that are not visible from the surface. Unlike ultrasonic waves, it does not require couplants (water or oil), so it is suitable for continuous measurements.
