About This Product

Active infrared sensors can detect the presence of a human body or object without contact by using the reflected infrared light emitted from the light projector. There are two types of sensors: distance measurement sensors and proximity sensors, and they have the following characteristics.

■Distance sensor

The distance sensor uses the principle of triangulation and detects a human body by calculating the distance to the object from the angle of light entering the light receiving section. The image is not affected by the color or reflectance of the detected object, detects the presence or absence of the detected object, and furthermore, by processing the signal using the on-board microcomputer, it is possible to distinguish between a slightly moving human body and a completely still object. It is a temporary sensor. It is an ideal sensor that can distinguish between a human body sitting at a desk and the back of a chair, or a human body sitting on a toilet and the toilet seat cover, contributing to energy savings in various devices such as computers, desk lights, and toilet seats.

■Proximity sensor

Proximity sensors detect changes in the amount of light that enters the light receiving area. Compared to distance sensors, it has a wider field of view and has a simpler structure, so it can be constructed at a lower cost. Can be used to switch lights and ventilation fans in toilets, conference rooms, and kitchens. It can be used hygienically by turning the switch on and off without contact.
