■Product overview

USB3.1Gen2 is approximately twice as fast as USB3.1Gen1 (conventional USB3.0), and smoothly performs large capacity transfers of up to 10Gbps. The SSG07 series is a USB optical hybrid extension cable that uses the high-speed USB3.1 standard. Maximize the transfer specs of your USB device by extending it with an optical cable. It also has a power supply capacity of 5V 900mA. SSG07 is exclusively for USB3.1 (Gen1/Gen2). There is no backward compatibility with USB2.0 and 1.1.

■10Gbps high-speed transfer

USB3.1Gen2 has a high-speed transfer of 10Gbps, which is approximately twice as fast as USB3.1Gen1 and approximately 20 times as fast as USB2.0. The SSG07 series makes it possible to extend this high-speed transfer up to 30m. The SSG07 extension source (PC side) is a USB Type-A male, and the extension destination (device side) is a Type-C male. Devices with Type-C can be connected directly. In addition, the small diameter of 4.5 mm makes it resistant to bending and tangling, and easy to handle (bending radius 8 mm, tensile strength 10 kg). Since it is an optical cable, there is no need for shielding or an amplifier.

■Connected device

USB devices that operate solely on the power supply from a computer or USB hub are called ``bus-powered,'' and those that operate on the USB device's own power supply are called ``self-powered.'' SSG07 operates on both "bus power" and "self power". In the case of bus-powered devices, devices that operate within 5V 900mA are eligible. As mentioned above, the SSG07 provides 5V 900mA power to the extended device. However, what should you do if you connect a bus-powered device and it becomes unstable (or does not work) due to insufficient power supply? Also, what about devices that cannot be connected directly to the Type-C connector? In this case, please connect the device to the extension using a USB3.0 (or 3.1) HUB. USB2.0 devices will not work. *In order to obtain the transfer speed of USB3.1Gen2, the USB hub you use must also be compatible with USB3.1Gen2.
