About This Product

■VARIVENT® Divert Valve

VARIVENT® single seat divert valves are used for simple divert functions in hygienic applications. Valves have the characteristics of easy operation and flexibility. Individual models are designed for different flow directions.

■Function

Single seat switching valves are suitable for liquid separation and distribution. There is only one seal on each switching rod in the valve disc that separates each pipeline from each other. Therefore, single-seat switching valves are not suitable for separating incompatible liquids.

■Recommended flow direction

To avoid water hammer when closing one of the paths while the product is flowing, the single-seat divert valve should preferably be switched in the opposite direction to the product flow direction. Single-seat divert valve type W is used for merging lines, while valve type X is designed for branching lines. The valve has characteristics such as easy operation.

■Application example

In fact, these valves are commonly used in CIP supply and return lines. One typical application is also found at the end of a valve block, where each valve is installed as a divert valve between a process line and a wastewater line (e.g. during extrusion). VARIVENT® long-stroke valves are used to produce products with relatively large particles or viscous products, such as strawberry yogurt.
