About This Product

■VARIVENT® tank bottom valve

VARIVENT® tank bottom valves are used to shut off pipelines at tanks or vessels. Various housing connections can be welded directly to the tank bottom and are flush mounted to the tank bottom wall. Similar to mixproof, radiant-sealing tank bottom valves, simple tank isolation valves with only one sealing surface between the tank and the pipeline can be used.

■Mixproof separation

Generally, mixproof models are used when tanks are operated with a common fill and discharge line. A mixproof valve cleans the pipeline while the product in the tank undergoes the necessary treatment. When the valve is closed (inactive position), there are always two seals between the two fluids in the mixproof model. If one seal fails, the resulting leakage is intentionally directed out of the leakage housing and into the periphery. This method allows you to ensure that no mixing occurs between the tank and the pipeline.

■Tank connection

VARIVENT® tank valves can be connected to tanks in a variety of ways. Tank connection type T is used to install the valve at the bottom of the tank. Tank connection type U is suitable for horizontal mounting of the valve on the side of the tank wall.

■Application example

Simple tank isolation valves are used when tanks are operated with separate fill and discharge lines. Pipelines cannot be cleaned while the tank is in operation. Mixproof tank isolation valves are used when tanks are operated with a common fill and discharge line. Mixproof is separated inside the pipe and tank, allowing the pipeline to be cleaned while processing continues inside the tank. In traditional models, a mixproof tank isolation valve separates the processing within the tank and the supply to the subsequent valve matrix, allowing filling, emptying and cleaning of the tank to be carried out flexibly and in parallel with each other. . For a long time, mixproof tank bottom valves were mounted horizontally on a special connection unit directly below the tank (ECO-MATRIX™). In this case, the process lines do not meet at the valve matrix and are placed directly at the bottom of the tank to save space.
