About This Product

It is applied to ensure the quality and safety of large diameter steel pipes used for gas pipelines, sewage, construction, etc. We offer three types of ultrasonic flaw detection systems (EMAT, regular piezo method, and phased array) for steel pipe quality inspection using ultrasonic methods, flexibly according to customer requirements.

Spiral pipe and straight seam welded pipe (UO pipe)

■Flaw detection area

Flaw detection and thickness measurement of bodies, pipe ends, welded parts, and heat affected zones

■Welding zone temperature

650℃ or less

■Installation location

It can be installed anywhere in the production line process.

■Flaw detection process

・Initial tube end inspection ・Inspection of welded parts and heat-affected zones ・Second tube end inspection

■Device calibration

・Calibration using small size calibration block ・On-line calibration using full-sized pipes with artificial flaws

■Features

It is possible to display the dimensions of flaws using C-scan data using the TOFD method.

■Phased array principle

This phased array method uses array transducers in which ultrasonic transducers are subdivided. It is possible to select a transducer size that is a combination of multiple subdivided transducers, and the scanning pitch is electronically performed using fine subdivisions. By delaying the excitation pulse given to the subdivided transducers, it is possible to transmit and receive oblique ultrasonic waves with arbitrary refraction angles. Applicable for detecting defects in welded parts.
