About This Product

■Weatherproof and waterproof optical connector for outdoor use with an optical module mounted on the plug connector

Mobile phone base stations have become an important communications infrastructure, but the issue of heat is attracting attention due to higher speeds, higher capacity, higher performance, and smaller devices. Base stations and core networks are connected by light, but the optical modules used for optical communications are easily affected by heat, and the design constraints of base stations against heat have become an issue. In addition, replacing optical modules is a very complicated process, so it has been desired to be able to do it easily. Against this background, we have developed the FO-BD7 series, a weatherproof and waterproof optical connector for outdoor use that mounts an optical module in a plug connector.

・Heat countermeasure structure by mounting an optical module on the plug connector ・Easy to use to replace optical modules at hand ・Waterproof and dustproof performance IP67 compatible ・Outdoor specification with environmental resistance performance

■General specifications

・Applicable cable diameter: 5mm ・Cable clamp strength: 100N or more ・Dustproof and waterproof performance: IP67 (when mated) ・Corrosion resistance: Salt spray 1,000 hours ・Operating temperature range: -20℃ to +65℃ (single connector)

■Repeated mating

・Mating part: 50 times ・LC connector part: 100 times
