About This Product
Moringa (Poperaceae, Wasabiaceae) is a tree native to northern India. Currently, it is widely distributed in India, the African continent, the island of Madagascar, the Arabian Peninsula, Asia, and South America. It is said to contain the most nutrients among all edible plants, and is also called the "miracle tree."
■Contains over 90 types of nutrients
Moringa is said to contain over 90 types of antioxidants such as vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids, and polyphenols. Due to its extremely high nutritional value, it has been selected as a support food by the United Nations World Food Program.
■History as a medical herb
Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medicine with a history of more than 5,000 years, states that moringa can prevent as many as 300 diseases. Therefore, in areas where moringa is well-established, it is incorporated into folk medicine as a wisdom for living.
■Global warming countermeasures
Moringa grows 20 times faster than other plants and 50 times faster than cedar, and absorbs a lot of carbon dioxide during its growth process. It is said that one Moringa plant can absorb 160 kg of carbon dioxide per year, and just two Moringa plants can absorb the 320 kg of carbon dioxide produced by one person breathing each year. For comparison, an 80-year-old cedar tree would require 11.4 trees.
■Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima Prefecture Build together with everyone in the town
Agriculture is severely affected by the declining birthrate and aging population. Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima Prefecture, was no exception. Compounding this situation is a decline in demand for existing crops and the emergence of new diseases. I heard heartbreaking cries from neighboring farmers. I came across moringa when I was researching vegetables that would require less work and could replace existing crops.
In 2020, a moringa project was started by 24 local farmers and Takatsuki Electric with hopes for a new industry, and today we continue to work together through trial and error.
■Cultivation without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers
In order to produce safe and secure moringa, we do not use any pesticides or chemical fertilizers. We carefully prepare the soil and strive to create an environment that is less prone to disease and pests. In addition, each product is harvested by hand, and only the highest quality products are shipped.
■Moringa exclusive processing factory
We have our own moringa factory and process our moringa within 4 hours after harvest. In addition, some of the processing machines used in tea, Minamikyushu City's representative industry, are used for processing.
