About This Product

■What is MR gas?

It is a composite gas containing various radicals that is generated when a catalytic reaction is performed using methanol as a raw material. The name MR gas is taken from the initials of radicals generated from methanol.

■Excellent sterilization effect

The MR gas sterilization system is characterized by its sterilization power which is more than 10 times that of EOG (ethylene oxide gas) and its high permeability. The secret lies in the use of radicals. Radical refers to the state of molecules with high activity, and strong acid water and hydrogen peroxide used for simple sterilization also utilize radicals. Radicals have extremely high activity, and while conventional sterilization methods act biochemically on microorganisms, radicals are thought to physically and chemically inactivate microorganisms and produce a sterilizing effect. MR sterilization systems make effective use of these radicals.

■High safety

The exhaust gas from the MR gas sterilization system instantly decomposes into water and carbon dioxide, making it harmless and leaving no residue of harmful substances such as formaldehyde. On the other hand, EOG gas is an extremely toxic and carcinogenic substance. Furthermore, although methanol is used as a raw material, the active gas generated is nonflammable and poses no risk of ignition.

■No corrosion or residue

EOG gas is known to be highly corrosive and persistent. In addition, formaldehyde can't be used in precision equipment because it causes residual polymerization and easily transforms into corrosive formic acid. It has become clear that ozone and hydrogen peroxide also have strong corrosive and residual properties. The MR gas sterilization system solves these problems. The MR gas sterilization system has a completely different sterilization mechanism from formaldehyde fumigation, ozone, and hydrogen peroxide. Most disinfection and sterilization methods involve an oxidation reaction, but MR gas uses a dehydrogenation reaction and basically does not cause corrosion. Furthermore, due to its high sterilization effect, only ``light exposure'' is required, meaning exposure at extremely low concentrations and for short periods of time. As a result, there will be no corrosion or residue on the target object. In addition, by using chemically stable methanol as a raw material, no products are generated that can have a negative impact on equipment. Since there is no corrosion of metals or deterioration of plastics, it is possible to sterilize sterile rooms of pharmaceutical plants where precision instruments are installed, operating rooms of hospitals, etc. without the need for curing.
