About This Product

■DescriptionHI3873 is a colorimetric water quality test kit that measures the concentration of nitrite in a sample as nitrite nitrogen (NO2–N) in the range of 0.0 to 1.0 mg/L (ppm). HI3873 includes all necessary reagents and the test kit contains enough reagents to run approximately 100 tests.

■Completion of setupAll necessary materials are included in the test kit, including glass cells, colorimetric cubes, and reagent bags.

■High resolutionMeasurements between 0.0 and 1.0 mg/L are measured with a resolution of 0.2 mg/L.

■Replacement reagents availableThere is no need to purchase a new kit even if you run out of reagents. For HI3873-100, you can order the reagents used in the kit.

■Advantages of usingNitrite nitrogen can be harmful to aquatic life even at low concentrations, so it is closely monitored in aquaculture facilities.

However, cooling towers require sufficient amounts of nitrite nitrogen to prevent corrosion. At high concentrations, it can be harmful to the environment and humans. Therefore, they are usually monitored to check the water quality of domestic water supplies and lakes.

Nitrite nitrogen is an intermediate product of the nitrogen cycle and can be produced by ammonia oxidation with water or even directly from industrial waste. They should not be present in drinking water.
