■Configuration

NICO-1 is a new culture vessel in which cells do not come into contact with each other and only their humoral factors can come and go. The two wells are separated by a filter so that different cells can be cultured independently. Only humoral factors released from cells pass through the filter and interact with the other cells. For example, before cancer cells suddenly metastasize to normal cells, they release their own humoral factors to change normal cells and create conditions that make them more likely to metastasize. It was difficult to create this situation and observe each cell at the same time using commercially available culture vessels. NICO-1 is a container that allows you to easily observe trigger events related to the occurrence of various changes.

■Structure of NICO-1

Although cells can be cultured in individual wells without connection, it is possible to control the phase of interaction by changing the amount of medium.

■Single use

Different cells are cultured in isolation to stimulate the release of their respective humoral factors. In this state, humoral factors do not circulate and a monoculture is maintained.

■Connection use

When the culture medium is filled, only the humoral factors move through the filter to the other container, allowing you to observe how they interact with the cells. By replacing the filter with your own, you can move only specific factors.

■Conventional Transwell uses vertical interference, whereas NICO-1 has horizontal interference, so it has the following features.

1.You can observe reactions in both different cells. 2.The filter is less likely to become clogged even when cells grow.

■Reaction by NICO-1

When two different cells are placed in each well, humoral factors begin to move back and forth naturally due to Brownian motion even in a static state, and mutual interference becomes visible after a few days.

■NICO-1 package

NICO-1 will be delivered in a package of 10 sets packed in a sterile pack. Please purchase the dedicated filter separately (two types of pore sizes are available).

■Imaging kit

When NICO-1 is mounted on the microscope incubator "SV-140A (C140T+BE052A)" and installed on a microscope, it is possible to live observe or time-lapse photograph how humoral factors such as exosomes interact with each other between different cells. is possible.
