About This Product

■Features

The Dräger Polytron®8310IR is a high-performance explosion-proof detector and alarm for detecting flammable gases at the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL). It is equipped with an infrared sensor DrägerSensor®IR that can be configured for methane, propane or ethylene. In addition to the 3-wire 4-20mA analog output with relay, HART®, Modbus and various fieldbuses are also available, allowing for integration into any control system.

■DrägerSensor IR's excellent resistance to catalyst poisons and fail-safe design

The DrägerSensor IR offers a number of outstanding benefits as a cost-effective alternative to catalytic combustion sensors. It is resistant to chemicals that shorten the lifespan of the detection element of catalytic combustion sensors, and the long-life optical detection element can reduce maintenance costs compared to pelisters. This IR technology is inherently fail-safe and free from unpredictable failures. It offers dramatic performance improvements, excellent long-term stability, and quick response times.

■Easy device management using digital communication

The digital interface on the Dräger Polytron 8310 allows for quick and easy remote assessment of the status of the detector alarm. It can also be integrated with existing asset management systems such as PACTware™ via DTM. In addition to standard HART® communication systems, it also supports FROFIBUS® PA, FOUNDATION fieldbus™ H1, and Modbus RTU fieldbus interfaces.
