The Dräger Polytron®8200CAT is a high-performance explosion-proof detector and alarm for detecting flammable gases at the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL). The catalytic combustion sensor DrägerSensor®Ex detects most flammable gases and vapors.
In addition to the 3-wire 4-20mA analog output with relay, HART®, Modbus and various fieldbuses are also available, allowing for integration into any control system.
■Quick response and stability of DrägerSensor Ex
The built-in DrägerSensor®Ex uses the proven catalytic bead sensor principle. High durability is achieved by combining excellent long-term stability with outstanding toxicity resistance.
Introducing a new gas inlet, this sensor reacts to gas in just a few seconds. This allows you to take immediate action and prevent the development of a flammable atmosphere.
■Easy device management using digital communication
The digital interface on the Dräger Polytron 8200 allows for quick and easy remote assessment of the status of detector alarms. It can also be integrated with existing asset management systems such as PACTware™ via DTM.
In addition to standard HART® communication systems, it also supports PROFIBUS® PA, FOUNDATION fieldbus™ H1, and Modbus RTU fieldbus interfaces.
■Common platform design, common operation system
Dräger Polytron8200 is a product of the Polytron8000 series. All detection alarms in this series have a common design and common user interface. This unifies operation and reduces training and maintenance requirements.
Status information is clearly displayed on a large, backlit graphic display in an easy-to-use format. During normal operation, the gas concentration, selected gas type, and unit of measurement are displayed. Tri-color LEDs (green, yellow, red) provide alert and status information.
Polytron8200 is operated by touching it through the display glass using a magnetic bar.
