A breathing apparatus designed for harsh missions. The Dräger PSSBG4plus compressed oxygen respirator combines outstanding safety with the highest level of respiratory performance and comfort. Positive pressure mechanism allows up to 4 hours of breathing even in toxic atmospheric environments

Improvements to the Dräger PSS®BG4 have reflected field experience, performance evaluations and high quality control standards. The result is Dräger PSSBG4plus. Numerous optimizations, new accessories and additional parts improve safety and simplify maintenance.

■Respirators made for long-term use

A positive pressure breathing circuit protects the wearer's breathing by preventing harmful substances from entering the closed breathing system. It can be used for up to 4 hours, depending on the activity. CO2 (carbon dioxide) absorbers remove carbon dioxide from your breath. At the same time, the breathing air is supplemented with oxygen from an oxygen cylinder. The regenerated breathing air is then re-inhaled after passing through an exhalation cooler.

■More comfortable breathing and activities

The demand valve, which adds oxygen as needed, has a corrosion-resistant surface treatment. An improved clip simplifies valve tightening. Additionally, the area around the pressure reducer has been reinforced to protect it from impact when installing and removing oxygen cylinders from the breathing apparatus. To reduce the temperature of the inhaled air and minimize physical stress on the wearer, the exhalation cooler can be filled with either ice or a regenerative cooling cartridge.

■Practical new features

A newly developed thermal protection cover for the breathing hose and housing to reduce exhaled air temperature is available as an option. A T-piece with a water trap can be attached to the face piece. In addition, fluids expelled from the respiratory drain valve can be absorbed with an optional high-performance absorber. The high-performance absorber is a disposable type.
