About This Product

■Features

The Dräger Polytron 8900 UGLD gas detector is an area monitor for early detection and warning of high-pressure gas leaks in outdoor plant equipment and equipment. By analyzing the sound of gas leaks using an ultrasonic sensor, it is possible to detect gas leaks earlier than with conventional gas detectors that measure the concentration of leaked gas. Additionally, gas leaks within the target area can be detected immediately without being affected by external factors such as wind direction.

■Ultrasonic sensor method - system for early detection of gas leaks

Gas detection systems commonly used to monitor gas leaks in high-pressure gas piping and containers in plants can only detect gas leaks that occur near gas sensors. Additionally, due to the influence of external environments such as wind, general gas sensors may experience a detection delay or may not detect gas clouds. Dräger's Polytron8900 UGLD is able to detect high-pressure gas-related leaks immediately after a gas leak, without being affected by this external environment. Efficient early gas leak detection not only avoids unnecessary shutdowns but also reduces time and costs associated with overall plant operations.

■Achieve safety redundancy for gas detection systems

Dräger Polytron 8900 is the latest ultrasonic gas leak detection in the Polytron 8000 series. All gas detectors in this series have a common design and a common user interface. This common user interface reduces training and maintenance burden for users. The Polytron8900 UGLD's reliable early gas leak detection capabilities make it the ideal instrument for redundant existing flame and gas detection systems.
