About This Product

■Summary

We have developed a Synchronized Stir Welding Tool Holder that far exceeds the characteristics of conventional FSW by simply attaching it to the ATC of an existing cutting machine without the need for a dedicated FSW machine or a combined FSW machine. . The features of the SSW Tool Holder are that it does not require a tilt angle and is capable of overwhelmingly "high-speed joining, high-strength joining, and low-temperature joining" compared to conventional FSW. Taking advantage of the features of SSW Tool Holder, it is used in various fields from the EV automobile industry to the aerospace industry. Our R&D center is fully equipped with a machining center equipped with an SSW Tool Holder, and we can model welding tools and propose welding parameters according to customer requests. Features

■Realizes overwhelmingly high-speed bonding

Compared to FSW, SSW can perform bonding at approximately twice the speed in the high-speed range. In addition, it has a wide welding range, making it easy to set the optimal conditions for welding, and at the same time has a low rate of defective joints, making it possible to obtain an advantageous range of setting conditions.

■High strength joints with a joint efficiency of 95% are possible.

The tensile strength of the base material is 245Mpa, while the SSW is 232Mpa, achieving an amazing joint efficiency of 95%. The elongation is almost the same as that of the base material, and it has higher strength than normal FSW.

■Possible to join in low temperature range

In FSW, internal defects begin to occur due to insufficient heat input when the bonding temperature drops below approximately 300°C, and the tool breaks at around 200°C. On the other hand, SSW has a good bonding surface with no defects even at around 150℃. For this reason, FSW requires a temperature at least half the melting point (660°C), but SSW allows high-quality bonding at low temperatures.

■Features of cross section

Compared to FSW, SSW has a wave-like stirring zone, which indicates that more active plastic flow is occurring. Furthermore, in the TMAZ (thermal work affected zone), the plastic flow region is small and the boundary with the stirring zone is clear. It can be seen that this amplifies the plastic flow in the stirring section while suppressing its influence on other parts. Therefore, it not only expands the range of welding conditions, but also has various advantages such as suppressing the rise of the material on the advancing side (AS), suppressing excessive frictional heat, and suppressing deformation due to pushing pressure on the material side. .
