About This Product

SCREMS is a system that photographs the light emission phenomenon of solar cells and measures power generation efficiency. SCREMS (Solar Cell Radioactive Efficiency Measurement System) is a system that measures the power generation efficiency by photographing the luminescence phenomenon (electroluminescence) of solar cells.

■Absolute value measurement for solar cells “SCREMS”

Up until now, the efficiency of solar cells has been evaluated using IV characteristics, but in 2007, Uwe Rau clarified the relationship between efficiency and electroluminescence (EL), and the light-emitting performance of solar cells has become a useful indicator. It was shown that (Reciprocity Relation). In order to effectively utilize this principle, SCREMS is a system that can measure the amount of EL as the number of photons. Since the relative wavelength sensitivity characteristics of SCREMS have been measured, it is possible to measure photons at various wavelengths by calibrating the absolute sensitivity of a specific wavelength using a reference light source. With this absolute sensitivity calibrated SCREMS, external luminous efficiency can be easily measured from the injection current and the EL amount (photon number) of the solar cell. It can measure from the visible range to 1,200nm, so please use it for evaluating various solar cells. This product was developed by our company under license from a patent application filed by Kyoto University, a national university corporation.
