About This Product

A fermograph is a device that measures the amount of gas generated by microbial fermentation. The Fermograph III is the successor model of the Fermograph, which was adopted by the Japan Yeast Industry Association's Bakery Yeast Testing Method. This is a device that can automatically measure the amount of gas generated from up to 20 samples simultaneously and in parallel. It can be used for breeding, development, quality control, etc. by evaluating the fermentation ability of microbial yeast, culture medium/dough composition, and fermentation conditions.

The Fermograph III is a device that automatically measures the amount of gas generated by microbial fermentation at regular intervals, and is the successor to the AF-1000 Fermograph, which was adopted by the Japan Yeast Industry Association's bread yeast test method. The first Fermograph was developed under the guidance of the Food Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (currently the Food Research Institute of the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization). Changes in the amount of gas produced by microorganisms are important indicators of bacterial metabolism and activity. The measurement data from this device can be used for a variety of purposes, such as breeding new useful bacterial strains, quality control in yeast production, bread making, brewing, etc., and searching for the optimal medium composition and fermentation conditions.

For Ver. 3. (daily measurement) ・In addition to measuring bread dough in minutes, it can also be used to measure continuously over several days, such as mash for Japanese sake, yeast culture solution, and bioethanol production medium. ・Measurement in seconds allows you to measure samples that generate gas in a short time, such as baking powder (the upper limit of the amount of gas that can be measured is about 90mL) ・Data correction based on environmental temperature using temperature sensor inside the device ・Measurement data can be converted to CSV format ・Sample bottle capacity: 225mL (Dough is equivalent to 20g of flour) ・Small, lightweight, and easy to maintain
