■Trochoid processing
Trochoid machining is a machining method that combines overlapping circumferential orbits and linear motion, making it possible to machine grooves using the concept of side machining. By maximizing the depth of cut in the axial direction (2xd1 to 5xd1) and reducing the depth of cut in the radial direction, thin chips are formed just like in finishing machining, achieving trouble-free and stable machining. In addition, the smaller cutting angle suppresses the heat generated during machining, allowing for longer tool life.
By using trochoidal machining, a high chip evacuation rate can be achieved even with machines that do not have sufficient power, and it is especially effective when machining grooves in difficult-to-cut materials. By making full use of the long flute length, wear is evenly distributed and, as a result, it is possible to achieve higher chip removal rates.
