About This Product

The focus monitor from Germany's PRIMES is a measuring instrument for high-power lasers used in processing such as laser welding, cutting, and surface modification. It is possible to measure not only the beam profile at the focal point, but also the beam profile during the focusing and defocusing processes, and it is also possible to measure M2. It is possible to measure high-power lasers (for example, up to 50kw for CO2 lasers) with a pinhole type beam profiler. In addition, by changing the measurement chip, it is compatible with various lasers (visible light, near infrared light, CO2).

■Features

・Measure the spot beam of high-power laser ・M2 measurement

■Focus monitor measurement principle

All types of focus monitors are equipped with a rapidly rotating measuring tip. The measuring tip moves across the focused beam as it rotates (with the X-axis in the direction of rotation) and moves along the Y-axis. The measurement chip has a small hole of about Φ20-30um, and a part of the focused beam is sampled through this hole as it crosses the beam. The sampled light propagates through the chip and is received by a detector. This obtains the intensity information at each point of the beam and maps it to obtain the beam profile. The Y-axis stage equipped with this measurement chip is mounted on the Z-axis stage, and after measuring each plane, it moves in the optical axis direction and repeats the measurement. This performs caustic measurements and obtains information such as the laser's main parameters such as M2 and convergence angle.
