■Beat frequency setting

Heterodyne measurements use two lights with slightly different wavelengths. This optical frequency difference is the frequency range in which electrical signals can be processed. There is no problem in that respect. What you need to be careful about when setting up is the amount of Doppler shift. In other words, when the object to be measured moves, the Doppler effect occurs and the optical frequency shifts slightly. Please set the beat frequency to be greater than that shift amount. The amount of Doppler shift D (Hz) has the following relationship with the moving speed V (m/s) of the object to be measured. Here λ is the wavelength of light. For a HeNe laser, the Doppler shift is 3.15MHz for a speed of 1m/s. When measuring such speeds, please select a beat frequency higher than this frequency. Please select from 5MHz or 10MHz. Switching is done with a single connector.
