About This Product

■SummaryMicro Electronics' Soft Stripper® (MS3/MS4 series) is a thermal fiber optic stripper with a built-in heater. Coatings such as MYLENE, Kapton, Teflon, PVC, HYTREL, etc. or buffers are softened with heat before being removed, so there is less damage to the fibers and even tough coatings can be removed with high precision.

MS3 series is for ribbon/tape core wire. MS4 series is a soft stripper for single core wire. A single soft stripper can handle a wide range of fiber diameters. Simply select and install the cutter blade and tube guide that are compatible with each type of fiber. We also have a wide range of power options, from dry battery type for on-site work to battery cable type for assembly line use.

*Not sold for medical use.
*Not compatible with polyimide coating removal.
*The AC adapter is no longer available. (August 2021)

■How to use1 Insert the fiber into the tube guide for the required stripper length.
2 Close the handle. The blade cuts through buffers, coatings, or jackets without touching the cladding.
3 With the handle closed, pull the fiber out of the tool. Accurate stripper length is always obtained. The fibers will not be nicked or damaged.

■Functionality Easily peels off single-core optical fibers and ribbon/tape fibers by heating them.The soft stripper (MS3 series for ribbon/tape, MS4 series for single core wire) has a built-in heater that softens the coating or buffer such as MYLENE, Kapton, Teflon, PVC, HYTREL, etc. before stripping it. Even tough coatings* can be removed with high precision without damage.

We also have a wide range of power options, from dry battery type for on-site work to battery cable type for assembly line use. A single soft stripper can handle a wide range of fiber diameters. Simply select and install the cutter blade and tube guide that are compatible with each type of fiber. *Not compatible with flame retardant coatings (polyimide resin, polyamide resin, etc.).
