About This Product

IEC61280-1-4 compliant Encircled Flux measurement device

■This device evaluates and measures the mode propagation of multimode fiber used in Gigabit Ethernet in real time.

Includes 10,20,30dB attenuation filter and universal 2.5mm diameter ferrule adapter

■About MPX Modal Explorer

At Arden Photonics, we believe the MPX is a powerful tool for measuring mode states in multimode fibers, light sources, and optical components. The MPX Modal Explorer allows direct measurements of the distribution of different modes in a multimode fiber, known as the fiber's modal distribution. The measurement technology consists of image processing and analysis techniques of the near-field distribution at the end face of the fiber patch cord using a video camera. Real-time visualization of mode distribution allows optimization of mode filter effectiveness and fiber handling methods. Mode distribution plays a particularly important role in the performance of fibers in LANs. For example, link loss and achievable bandwidth are directly affected by the mode distribution of the fiber connected to the transceiver. For this purpose, MPX is also capable of measuring standardized parameters such as Effective Coupled Power Ratio and Encircled Flux.
