■High-speed database engine
EMPRESS is an in-process task type engine, so it is an embedded database that runs in the same memory area as the application. Unlike client-and-server databases, there is no need to communicate with a server, so high speed is structurally guaranteed.
In addition to speeding up the engine, EMPRESS has many tune-up points and years of tune-up know-how, making it possible to provide the latest high-speed embedded database engine.
■Small footprint
EMPRESS' embedded database provides high-speed processing of large amounts of data even with a small footprint database engine, supporting multi-process tasks, two-phase transactions, locking power loss recovery, non-fragmented structures, C interface, embedded SQL, and ODBC. - Supports JDBC etc. At the same time, the EMPRESS embedded database finds optimal algorithms with low CPU occupancy to process data quickly, even with limited memory space.
■Power failure recovery function
A major challenge for embedded databases is how quickly the database can be restored when the power is turned back on after a power outage. EMPRESS's high-speed power failure recovery does not restore from backup files, but releases transactions at high speed upon restart, verifies data, indexes, headers, and dictionaries in the database even when no transactions are in progress, and restores the database. It is very fast and robust.
■Built-in transaction and lock function
To ensure device data consistency, EMPRESS supports ANSI two-phase transactions and locking functionality. Isolation levels such as dirty read, read commit, and serialization can be used in multiple applications, and even if there is a conflict, it is possible to resolve the application problem by changing the isolation level.
