About This Product

■FS7 fire detector

Multispectral WideBand IRTM, Near Band IR, and Visible Band fire detectors are designed specifically for semiconductor cleanroom fire protection applications. Overview of specifications - Field of view: 120° horizontal and vertical - Operating voltage: 24 VDC nominal (18~28 VDC) - Adjusted - Operating temperature range: 32° ~ +158°F (0°C ~ 70°C)

■Product overview

The fire detector responds to semiconductor wet bench fires with an intelligent two-stage response: Stage 1: Raise an alert. First stage response to a small fire with a thermal energy output of 3 kW (equivalent to a 4 inch diameter polypropylene pool fire). This allows time for self-extinguishing. Stage 2: Sound the alarm. If the fire does not self-extinguish and reaches the Factory Mutual-defined thermal energy threshold of 13 kW (equivalent to an 8-inch diameter polypropylene pool fire), a second stage response will occur. FS7-2173 is used with FS7-130-SX controller or control panel FSWB. The controller and control panel power the detector, monitor the status of all detectors, and communicate with the detector through a digital RS-485 communication channel. The FS7-2173 comes with a standard 20-foot cable connector. The detector connects to a controller or control panel using an auto-locking connector and a Fire Sentry junction box. This makes connections quick and easy and eliminates wiring problems. Each detector can store up to six date and time stamped FirePics™ (pre-ignition multispectral sensor array data) in non-volatile memory. Controllers and control panels can also store event history in non-volatile memory, including date and time stamped alerts, alarms, and fault history. FirePics™ and event history can be retrieved from the controller or control panel.
