US232 is a converter cable that uses USB to add an RS232C port to your PC. A USB-RS232 conversion circuit is built into the RS232C connector at the end of the USB cable. Once the driver software is installed, the application software can handle it compatible with RS232C. Software that has been using RS232 can be used as is by simply changing the COM port number. The serial port can be expanded by simply plugging it into a USB port, and no resources such as IRQ, DMA, or I/O port are required.
US232R-10/100 provides a full set of RS-232 modem signals and controls (TxD, RxD, RTS, CTS, DSR, DTR, DCD, RI, and GND) through a 9pin D sub-male connector. US232R-10/100 has a built-in 128-byte FIFO buffer for transmitting and a 256-byte FIFO buffer for receiving. This allows you to use communication speeds of 300 to 1M bps, which exceeds the communication speed of the RS232 attached to a normal PC. Also, since it is powered by USB, there is no need for a separate power supply.
