About This Product

LFA9 is a UART<->DMX512 bridge board equipped with RX631 (R5F5631), a built-in DMX512 MCU. This board uses an isolator to isolate the DMX512 communication line side circuit and internal circuit, so the effects of external noise can be minimized. It is also a "middle hardware" LFA series compatible DMX512 product. In addition to complying with the series standard specifications, this model is equipped with Renesas Electronics' RX631 (R5F5631) general-purpose CPU, so it is possible to customize command specifications, and it is also possible to set up sequences and operate independently. Of course, special software has been implemented so that it can be used with simple commands, so it can be used without any knowledge of DMX512. The DMX512 communication line and internal circuit are isolated by an isolator, allowing safe connection of DMX512 devices. ■What is DMX512? ``DMX 512'', commonly known as ``DMX'', is a communication protocol used to adjust the intensity of light from lamps, send information on the position, movement, and shape of lighting such as moving heads, and control lighting and stage effects. A standard that defines the communication method between a controller that sends control signals and equipment (devices) that respond to those signals. It supports up to 512 channels, and channel numbers are determined for DMX compatible equipment. In order to respond to situations that cannot be handled with conventional analog signals, the United States Institute of Theater Technology (USITT) began development in 1986, standardized it as DMX512-A in 1990, and passed ANSI E1.11 in 2004. Approved as USITT DMX512–A. Currently, lighting control using DMX512 signals is the most common method worldwide. The physical layer is RS485, a start/stop 2-bit start/stop synchronous serial with a transfer rate of 250 kbps, and a maximum of 513 byte packets can be continuously transferred at one time. Since each channel is 1 byte, a value between 0 and 255 can be specified for each channel. The beginning of a channel is indicated by outputting a break signal of 88uSec or more at the beginning of one packet.
