■Features

Our in-house aerostatic bearing spindle and high-precision feed/positioning mechanism realize high-precision cutting and grooving.

■Ultra-precision aerostatic bearing spindle

Equipped with a highly rigid aerostatic bearing spindle developed and manufactured by our company. Adopts a synchronous motor*1) to achieve high rotational accuracy and provides the optimal spindle for the blade used. *1) Some induction motors are also used.

■High-precision feeding/positioning mechanism

The guide surface of the workpiece feed axis (X-axis) uses an ultra-precision V-V type dynamic pressure guide finished using scraping techniques to achieve highly straight and smooth feed. The tool positioning axis (Y-axis) and tool cutting axis (Z-axis) are equipped with high-resolution linear scales*1), achieving high-precision positioning with scale feedback, and the Y-axis drive of USM-20B (H) Adopts a linear motor drive*2) to meet the demand for higher tool positioning accuracy. *1) Z-axis of USM-8D is optional *2) X, Z-axes and Y-axis of USM-8D are driven by high-precision ball screws.

■On-air truing

Two types of truing functions are available as options: discharge type and mechanical type (using rotary truer). By performing blade deflection, shaping, and correction on the machine, it contributes to higher precision groove shapes and tool cost reduction.

■Multi-blade processing

By adopting a highly rigid aerostatic bearing spindle, multi-blade machining with heavy loads is possible. Compared to single-blade machining, the increased machining efficiency can dramatically improve productivity.

■Blade diameter/work surface detection function

We provide high-precision blade diameter detection and workpiece surface detection equipment, essential for gap elimination and depth of cut automation.
