About This Product

All lyophilized formulations have a critical temperature for complete cooling and solidification and retention after primary drying. The freeze-drying microscopy system Lyostat5 allowed observation of the sample structure during the process to determine the exact points of drying and disintegration. Clarifying these development processes will lead to efficient product production and process cost reductions.

■Measurement principle of Lyostat5

Simply place a 1μg to 2μg sample into the stage chamber under the microscope, and the chamber will function as a miniature freeze dryer. Images, temperature and pressure can be observed/set and controlled in real time on the PC screen. The saved image (you can choose from several types such as JPEG, GIF, and BMP) includes the image, temperature, and pressure.

■ Observe the behavior of formulations during freeze-drying in real time

By observing the sample structure, the exact point of collapse or eutectic melting can be identified to provide the highest primary drying temperature.

・Diaphragm liquid nitrogen pump ・Vacuum pump (manufactured by Oerlikon Leybold) ・Pressure gauge ・Vacuum gauge (manufactured by Pfeiffer Pirani) ・Gas flow controller with nitrogen flow meter needle valve ・Digital camera ・Liquid nitrogen 2.5L Dewar bottle ・21CFR11 compatible (optional)
