About This Product

■Features

ABS is a general-purpose plastic with excellent balance of mechanical properties. It is used for exterior parts because of its shiny and clean appearance. It has excellent workability, is easy to cut, and can also be processed by adhesive processing. In addition, it can be colored by plating or painting. It is also useful for model creation because it has good moldability. It is a cost-effective material with excellent mechanical strength and impact resistance.

■Mechanical strength

Tensile strength (27-48MPa) and Izod impact strength (75J/m).

■Heat resistance

Continuous use temperature is 55℃. When used in high temperature environments, engineering plastics and super engineering plastics are candidates.

■Shock resistance

ABS is a material with particularly high impact resistance (Izod impact strength 275J/m). This comes from the butadiene that makes up ABS, which absorbs shock like rubber.

■Weather resistance

ABS has low weather resistance, and prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause discoloration and deterioration. When using outdoors, we recommend using a grade with enhanced surface treatment and weather resistance.

■Flammability

The flammability of ABS is comparable to that of HB.

■Precautions when using and processing

Since it is easily flammable and has low chemical and solvent resistance, it is necessary to check the usage environment before selecting it. Also, as it is sensitive to UV rays, using it outdoors may cause damage due to deterioration.

■Appearance

The top and bottom surfaces are shiny and smooth. Color variations include ivory, black, and translucent.

■Applications

Prototypes, toys, miscellaneous goods, various exteriors, cases, mechanical parts, etc.
