About This Product

■Features

PMP (polymethylpentene) is a high molecular weight hydrocarbon classified as a polyolefin. It is similar to PP (polypropylene) and has nearly the same chemical resistance. Since the continuous operating temperature is 115℃, it can be used at higher temperatures than PP. It does not hydrolyze even in boiling water, so it can be used in steam sterilization applications. Except for some organic solvents such as toluene and trichloroethylene, it exhibits high resistance to acids and alkalis. It has low dielectric properties comparable to PTFE.

■Precautions when using and processing

During cutting, the blades are extremely hard and wear out rapidly. Another drawback is that there are few variations in material size and it is relatively expensive.
