Atmos, the Sakumoto style solar panel pyrolysis device, is the only device in the world that can pyrolyze solar panels and extract high-purity materials without emitting carbon dioxide or burning them.

■Japanese international patent acquired

The Sakumoto solar panel pyrolysis device Atmos has been recognized for its unique technology and has been granted a Japanese patent. We have applied for international patents in the US, China, EC, India, etc.

■Disposal issue

The useful life of solar panels is said to be approximately 20 to 30 years, and at the end of their lifespan, most panels are currently disposed of in landfills. As the number of solar panels installed increases, the amount of waste is also expected to increase, and it is said that by 2040 the amount will reach approximately 800,000 tons. In response to this current situation, the government began considering making recycling of used solar panels mandatory in June 2024. The probability of recycling solar panels is urgently needed.

■Structure of solar panel

Solar panels are composed of various organic and inorganic materials. Approximately 70% of the constituent material is glass, but in conventional decomposition equipment, EVA adheres to it and other substances are mixed in, making it unrecyclable and disposed of in landfills. In order to fully recycle solar panels, they must be broken down into high-purity materials.
