・SUS304-2B. SUS304-2B refers to SUS304 stainless steel with a "2B" surface. The most common finish on commercially available stainless steel products is this so-called "2B" finish. It is mainly used for building materials and general purpose materials, and can be said to have a slightly glossy finish. SUS304 is a type of austenitic stainless steel that is often used as a material for sheet metal processing. It is the most widely distributed stainless steel material. Stainless steel is produced through a cold rolling process in which the raw materials for stainless steel (iron, chromium, nickel, etc.) are poured into a mold, solidified, cooled, and then rolled out. It is designated as "2B" because the finish is glossy. It has a smooth and glossy finish and can be used as is without any processing. ・SUS304-No.1. SUS304-No.1 has a slightly rough surface and is not shiny. The color is gray close to white. After hot rolling, it is completed by annealing and pickling. Unlike other materials, it is almost never used unpainted in places where appearance is important. They are mostly used in places that are not noticeable from the outside, such as parts inside machines. "SUS304-NO.1" is compatible with thick plates. ・BA material. BA is a glossy surface finish that retains the surface after rolling. After cold rolling, bright annealing (non-oxidation annealing) is performed, or skin pass rolling is performed to increase gloss. It has a glossy finish close to that of a mirror, so it is used when a shiny shine is required. The finish, also known as "BA material," has a more glossy finish than 2B and has a nearly mirror-like finish. It is a typical finish of so-called "beautiful stainless steel," so it is often used in the kitchen utensils mentioned above. By the way, BA is an abbreviation for "Bright Anneal". Bright annealing is translated into Japanese as "bright annealing." Materials that have achieved high gloss through bright annealing are called BA materials.
