About This Product

Microunion is an innovative connector for connecting capillary columns in gas chromatography. It has better sealing properties than the glass connectors traditionally used to connect capillary columns, and its small size and light weight make it much easier to handle. Once connected, there will be no leakage or damage to the connector itself.

By using metal ferrules (SilTiteTM ferrules), they do not loosen after temperature cycling, so there is no need to retighten them. Because it is fixed and connected using a special jig, it is easier to connect than using a spanner. Ideal for connecting guard columns and GCxGC columns.

*Guard columns are a method often used in matrix/contaminated food analysis and environmental analysis. By using a guard column, you can protect the analytical column from contaminants contained in the sample (prolong its life and prevent changes in retention due to column cutting). In addition, effective peak focusing can be expected during solvent liquefaction during splitless injection.
