About This Product

There are two types of backlights for LCD panels: an edge-light method that uses a light guide plate, and a direct-light method that uses LEDs arranged behind the light-emitting surface. The edge-light method, which uses a light guide plate, is advantageous in making it thinner, so it is mainly used for screen sizes of 20 inches or less.

■Strengths of Nalux's light guide plate for LCD backlights

For our backlight light guide plates, a fine prism pattern (microprism) is machined into a mold with high precision, and this is precisely transferred to the molded product. Another method for forming optical patterns on molds is the stamper method. The microprism method can be used efficiently by selectively reflecting light in the desired direction, and by optimally designing the ridge lines and cross-sectional shape of the prisms formed on both the upper and lower surfaces, it is possible to further improve brightness uniformity. can. Recognized for its excellent characteristics and quality stability, it is mainly used in the digital meters of premium cars, which have the most demanding specifications. Additionally, in recent years, in-vehicle digital meters have begun to use unusually shaped or curved liquid crystals. We were also the first to successfully commercialize mass production of light guide plates compatible with these special liquid crystals.
