About This Product

In general optical systems, light passes through the lens, so it must be made from a material that transmits light. Transparent materials such as resin, glass, and quartz are used in the visible range, but since these materials do not transmit light in the far-infrared range, special materials such as germanium and chalcogenide glass, which transmit far-infrared light, are used in the far-infrared range. materials are used. On the other hand, reflective optical systems use only the reflection from the material surface, so the light transmittance of the material used is not an issue. In addition, metal coatings such as aluminum and gold that are used in the visible to near-infrared range also have high reflectance in the far-infrared range, so by applying a metal film coating to the resin surface, it is possible to transmit light from the visible range to the far-infrared range. It is possible to create mirrors that have uniform and high reflectance across the area. NALUX proposes a reflective optical system unit for far infrared rays that uses a mirror with a metal coating on the resin surface. By applying the design and manufacturing technology of free-form optical elements that we have cultivated over many years for fΘ lenses for laser beam printers, we have realized a high-quality reflective optical system unit. (Patent No. 4423380, Patent No. 4947563) Another feature of reflective optical systems is that they do not produce chromatic aberration. It is ideal not only for far-infrared imaging, but also for analysis and other applications that use light in a wide range from visible to far-infrared.
