About This Product

The technology of adding microstructures to surfaces, such as the one introduced for anti-reflection structures (ARS), can also be applied to control wettability. Looking at the natural world, it is known that lotus leaves repel water (lotus effect). This is because the uneven shape of the leaf surface emphasizes water repellency. By utilizing this property, it is possible to control wettability using microstructures.

Even for materials that are not suitable for general water-repellent finishing methods such as vapor deposition or spraying due to poor adhesion, it is possible to make them water-repellent by directly etching the surface of the product. Another advantage is that it prevents dirt from adhering to it.
