About This Product

■What is quartz glass?

This glass has higher transparency than ordinary glass, excellent light transmission, extremely high purity, extremely high heat resistance, thermal shock resistance, and physical stability.

■How pure is it?

Quartz glass has extremely high purity (100% silicon dioxide) compared to ordinary glass, and has almost no bubbles or striae, so it has particularly good transmission of ultraviolet light. The total amount of metal impurities is extremely low compared to other glasses (less than 1 ppm for synthetic quartz glass, about 20 ppm for transparent (natural) quartz glass), and therefore has higher transparency than other glasses, and is highly pure and resistant to attack by chemicals. ■It is said that it has high heat resistance, but how high is it specifically?

It can withstand temperatures approximately 12 times higher than ordinary glass. (Maximum operating temperature: 1100℃ Regular operating temperature: 900℃← 80℃ for general glass)
