About This Product

You can feel the seasons through the sunlight, such as the fact that the sunlight is shining into your room for a longer period of time, or that the sunsets are taking longer. Now that I'm spending more time at home, I'm no longer pressed for time, and now my smartphone notifies me of the exact time and schedule, and I want to live a life where I can appreciate the passage of time. All of the cast brass wall clocks we designed this time have 12-part shadows that make it easy to see the time divisions. There are 3 different designs of wall clocks in total. We also created original clock hands to match each design. Twinkle is a dodecagonal polyhedron with light sparkling on each of the 12 triangular sides. Enjoy the shimmering light and the way the shadows cast on adjacent surfaces change depending on the season.

■Explanation of black spots

``Kuromura'' is a traditional brass coloring technique cultivated by Takaoka Foundry that gives it the appearance of an ancient excavated item. Unlike general painting or plating, each piece has its own unique expression, rather than being uniform, creating a warm and beautiful metal look. As you use it, the taste and color will deepen over time, and the color will settle down to a deep color similar to that of cast brass. The ``black mura'' is colored with a mixture of pigments based on lacquer, and then ``Ohaguro'' is imprinted with a brush while applying heat to create unevenness and expression. This is a coloring technique that has been handed down for a long time at Takaoka Casting, which has been making Buddhist utensils and statues for a long time.
