■Explanation of black spotsThe traditional brass coloring technique ``Kuro Mura'' cultivated by Takaoka Foundry gives it the appearance of an ancient excavated item. Unlike general painting or plating, each piece has its own unique expression, rather than being uniform, creating a warm and beautiful metal look. As you use it, the taste and color will deepen over time, and the color will settle down to a deep color similar to that of cast brass.

The ``black mura'' is colored with a mixture of pigments based on lacquer, and then ``Ohaguro'' is imprinted with a brush while applying heat to create unevenness and expression. This is a coloring technique that has been handed down for a long time at Takaoka Casting, which has been making Buddhist utensils and statues for a long time.
