About This Product

■Atopic dermatitis model mouse (IL33 Tg mouse)

To investigate the role of IL33 in the skin, Dr. Yasutomo Imai, Dr. Kiyofumi Yamanishi, and colleagues at Hyogo University of Medicine created transgenic mice in which the IL33 gene was expressed under the control of the skin-specific keratin 14 promoter. The results showed that all mice spontaneously developed atopic dermatitis after 8 weeks of age. This mouse developed itchy dermatitis all over its body, including the face, ears, and tail, with thickened epidermis, infiltration of inflammatory cells into the dermis, an increase in mast cells, an increase in chemokines, and high levels in the blood. IgG and histamine levels are seen. Based on these findings, a mechanism has been proposed in which increased IL33 in the skin induces the activation of mast cells and type II innate lymphocytes, resulting in an increase in eosinophils and the development of atopic dermatitis. . This mouse is expected to contribute to the development of new treatments as a model mouse that reproduces the symptoms of human atopic dermatitis. The BSRC Group also accepts contract non-clinical studies using this mouse.

■Atopic dermatitis and IL33

Atopic dermatitis is a disease associated with skin inflammation associated with allergic reactions, and the main symptoms are chronic repeated dermatitis and severe itching. The number of patients is said to reach approximately 10-20% of the population, and it has become a social problem. Various theories have been proposed as the cause of atopic dermatitis, but it is not completely understood. IL33 is localized in the nucleus of epithelial cells and vascular endothelial cells in various organs, and is released outside the cells to activate immune system cells such as lymphocytes, mast cells, basophils, and eosinophils. This is Roykin. It is thought to be involved in a wide range of diseases involving the immune system, including allergic diseases such as hay fever, asthma, and rhinitis, arthritis, diabetes, and inflammatory bowel disease. It is known that IL33 is produced in large amounts in skin with atopic dermatitis.
