This is a high performance solar meter that is unique in the world. By using a pyroelectric sensor and extracting its output as a differential coefficient with respect to time, only direct solar radiation can be faithfully measured without being affected by scattered light.
■Features
・This is the same method as the sunlight meter used by the Japan Meteorological Agency, AMeDAS.
・Sunshine threshold: Direct solar radiation intensity 120W/m2
■Measurement principle
A reflecting mirror attached to the main axis rotates at a constant speed along the main axis, and when the mirror momentarily captures sunlight during one rotation, the optical sensor outputs a pulse-like signal depending on the strength of the direct light. By measuring the number of pulses whose height is higher than the threshold, you can accurately measure the sunshine hours.
